Condition
Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, and minor areas of rubbing and discoloration, consistent with age and gentle use. The wood grain naturally with some deeper cracks throughout, all inherent to the wood and stabilized and filled with wood inlay by the artist at the time of production. The rear proper left vertical pole with a minor loss (½ x 1/8 in.) to the rear upper edge and the front proper left foot of the chair with a minor loss (approximately and 5/8 x 1/8 in.). The seat, seatback, and ottoman cushions are all reversible, with Chimayo wool weaving on one side and leather on the other. The wool in good, clean condition, with some fading to the upper edge of the seat cushion, as visible in the catalogue illustration. The wool of the ottoman cushion with an area of sensitive restoration, measuring approximately ¾ x 10 ½ in. The leather surfaces with minor signs of wear and faint scattered scuffs, all consistent with age and gentle use. The hammered brass tacks with some minor surface scratches and areas of rubbing, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle use.
