The author was former chairman of the P&O Steam Navigation Company and London Chartered Bank of Australia. He describes and illustrates not only China and India, but also Singapore, Socotra, Aden, Mocha and other Red Sea views, Alexandria, Malta, Algiers and Gibraltar.
