Condition consistent with age and use. The wood presents with the usual scattered scratches, small dents and small chips. There are several craquelures and cracks, mostly concentrated to the ebonised wood elements. Some of them presents with previous attempts of stabilization. There are several instances of touch-up to the ebonised finish, mostly to cover previous cracks and previous small chips. There are a few missing bone elements, not extremely visually distractive. There are some missing wooden elements, including a few more visible ones : two framing rods on the lower half of the front, two rods at mid-height on the proper right side column, two rods along the proper right corner of the drawer (a small wooden rod has been added at a later date to replace these two missing elements, and the ebonised wood has been re-painted to coverthe loss). The wooden archs on the sides of the cabinet are slightly loose and one on the proper left side of the cabinet is almost completely unfixed. The leather is dry and presents with tears and losses. Some of the wood panels on which the leather is laid presents with seam separations, visible from the leather side. The brass presents with some light handling wear throughout. The passementeries are newer.
