Charles de Temple, born in Mexico in 1929, began his career as a sculptor, before focussing on jewellery design. He moved to London in the late 1950s, and alongside contemporaries such as Andrew Grima, created modern, sculptural jewels focusing on texture and abstraction, mostly using gold. As well as designing the 'All the Time in the World' ring for the Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service (lot 131), he also created the gold finger seen in Goldfinger, worn by Honor Blackman at the film's premier.
