The cardboard is laid down on canvas and the edges are taped. There is a layer of varnish through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate but UV examination does not reveal any obvious evidence of retouching. There is a 7cm-long diagonal surface scratch to the figure's hair. This work is in overall good condition.
