Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a thick opaque varnish, through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate but UV examination does reveal a network of lines of retouching along the extreme right edge, which corresponds to a significant area of paint shrinkage. There is a faint vertical stretcher-bar mark, and various areas of paint shrinkage and some fine lines of craquelure in places (most of which are visible in the catalogue illustration). This work is in overall good condition.
