Gifted by the Artist to Denis Mitchell, and thence by descent to🔯 the present owner

When Breon O'Casey🦹 first came to St. Ives, Denis Mitchell helped him out greatly, initiall🃏y employing O'Casey as his assistant. In the late 1950s, Mitchell introduced him to Barbara Hepworth who subsequently took on Breon as her own assistant. Over the course of these two apprenticeships, O'Casey learnt much and recounts how Mitchell in particular catalyzed a passion for a breadth of materials that he went onto employ.
