The present dish is emblematic of the fine potting, delicate painting and fine control of underglaze blue that typifies China’s long eighteenth century and the Yongzheng reign (1723-1734) in particular. Compare two other dishes of this serene yet opulent design from the collection of Quincy Chuang, sold in these rooms, 9th April 2024, lots 3711 and 3712; and three other similar saucers, included by Marchant in their Exhibition of Qing Mark and Period Blue and White, S. Marchant &♍; Son, London, 1984, cat nos 20 and 21.
