each decorated with blue and green flowers and foliage in recurring motifs over a gilt ground, the cavetto painted with a black imperial double-headed eagle in a green roundel surrounded by Emperor Nicholas I's name and title in Cyrillic, the cavetto also with red rosettes, each marked under base with blue crowned cypher for Nicholas I and red Kremlin Palace inventory numbers
