Biography
Scott Milleisen is the Global Head of Lending for Sotheby’s Financial Services (“SFS”). Scott leads an intern🐭ational team of lending professionals providing tailored financing solutions to owners of exceptional fine art, collectible cars, and luxury assets. Scott has extensive experience with the world’s largest collectors, offering them advice and capital solutions for more than 25 years.
Under Scott’s leadership, SFS has become the largest asset-based lender in the industry, with over $2 billion in total capitalization. The firm’s unique acces💞s to institutional capital💝 empowers the world’s greatest collectors with unparalleled financial flexibility. During Scott’s tenure, he has led some of the most significant transactions in the art and collectibles world, including:
–Acquisition financing of a private art collection for a prominent Latin American family of $105 million
–Refinancing and debt consolidation for a leading international car collector of $85 million
–Loa🌺n to the estate of an esteemed US art collecto💦r for $100 million to pay estate taxes
Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Scott served as U.S. Head of Lending Solutions at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, leading a business that grew to $1 billion in annual r🎃evenues. He also led J.P. Morgan’s Sports Finance group, earning a reputation as a trusted advisor to major league team owners. In 2015, he was inducted into SportsBusiness Journal’s “40 Under Forty” Hall of Fame. Scott graduated cum laude with honors in Economics from Hamilton College, where he was a standout student-athlete and remains the school’s all-time leading rush🐽er in football. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey (USA) with his wife, Amanda, and their three sons.
