題裱褙：同治四年(♑1865) 十月廿又二日過南昌普賢寺，遇寺僧宗凡，年已八旬矣，云：八大山人，江西南昌人，甲申後為僧，名啟傳，住奉新縣百丈寺。年四十後為儒，名八大山人。八十餘歿於普賢寺，平生未娶無子，厝於富家莊太邍。員青衢云：山人姓朱，名耷，字雪箇，故石城府王孫也。甲申後為僧，號八大山人。長持八大圓覺經，因以為號。同治九年(1870) 夏六月過徐氏壽豈堂獲觀此幅，因書顛末於其上，會稽趙之謙識。鈐印：趙之謙、撝叔
