A sixth copy, bound for Jean Grolier by Jean Picard. The Libri-Schäfer copy.
8vo (166 x 95 mm). The Aldine anchors painted blue with gold ink highlights, initials suppli♓ed in gold ink. (Occasional foxing.)
binding: Parisian russet morocco over pasteboards by Jean Picard, ca. 1542 (174 x 100 mm), two gilt fillets around sides, inner frame of double gilt fillets flanked by blind fillets, gilt trefoil at each corner, large gilt arabesque tools at inner angles, at center interlaced triangles formed by twin gilt fillets, surrounded by gilt circular punches, containing CATVLLVS·/ TIBVLLVS·/PROPERTIVS; Grolier’s ownersh𝐆ip inscript𒁃ion at foot of upper cover, and motto at foot of lower. (Spine bands and joints a trifle rubbed, restoration to joints.)
