S otheby’s is pleased to present the very first international online sale dedicated to the Arts of Africa, Oceania and the A🦋mericas: SCULPTURE.
Paying homage to the genius of the anonymous artists who created them, the works selected for the Paris session, whether archetypal or previously unknown, brilliantly ill🦋ustrate the diversity of the creations from these continents. The collection will also demonstrate the importance of the first major Western collectors, from Charles Ratton to Louis Carré and Josef Mueller, who at the beginning of the 20th century shed light on these arts from distant lands. Three pieces from the iconic collection of Pierre and Suzanne Vérité will also be part of the sale.
