The roll-tooled border depicting Apollo, Calliope, Terpsichore and Thalia is signed C.N., which is considered to be Conrad Nei🌳del of Wittenberg (EBDB w000427), who died in 1568. Another binding with the same initials is recorded, with the date 1563.


2 parts in one volume, 8vo (155 x 98 mm). Italic type, 29 lines plus headline. collation: A-S8 T4 a-g8 h2 [2]A10 B-M8: 304 leaves (final leaf🍸 blank). Woodcut Aldineไ device on title-pages. (Occasional light foxing.)


bindin🅺g: Contemporary blind-stamped pigskin with the letters ASK and the date 1562 stamped in black on upper cover (164 x 115 mm), manuscript title lettering at head of fore-edge with horizontal manuscript lines indicating the start and end of each section. (Binding slightly soil𒊎ed.)
